For the purpose of this code of ordinances, the following definitions apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BZA. Carroll County Board of Zoning Appeals.
CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS. The section of the Code of Public Local Laws and Ordinances of Carroll County that are adopted by die General Assembly affecting Carroll County.
COUNTY CODE. The section of the Code of Public Local Laws and Ordinances of Carroll County that are adopted solely by the County Commissioners.
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. The Board of County Commissioners of Carroll County, Maryland, a body corporate and politic of the State of Maryland.
HPC. The Carroll County Historic Preservation Commission.
PLANNING COMMISSION. The Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission.
PWA. Public Works Agreement.
ZONING DISTRICTS.
(1) A - Agricultural District;
(2) C – Conservation District;
(3) C-1 – Commercial Low Intensity District;
(4) C-2 – Commercial Medium Intensity District;
(5) C-3 – Commercial High Intensity District;
(6) EC - Employment Campus District;
(7) H - Heritage District;
(8) HDO - Historic District Overlay;
(9) I-2 – Heavy Industrial District;
(10) I-1 – Light Industrial District;
(11) MHP - Mobile Home Park District;
(12) MRO - Mineral Resource Overlay;
(13) R-7,500 - Residence, Multi-Family District;
(14) R-10,000 - Residence, Urban District;
(15) R-20,000 - Residence, Suburban District; and
(16) R-40,000 - Residence District.
