(A) Every officer of the village, upon the expiration of his or her term, for whatever cause, shall deliver to his or her successor all property, books, records and effects belonging to the village, or pertaining to the office he or she has held, within five days after notification and request to do so. If no successor has been appointed, such property shall be delivered to the Village Clerk or Village Treasurer.
(B) Any officer or employee violating the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than $100, nor more than $500.
