§ 6-15-1 BACKFLOW PREVENTION REQUIRED.
   If the Director of Public Works determines that a backflow prevention device is necessary for the safety of the public water supply system for an existing or new water customer, the Director will give notice to the water customer to install an approved backflow device within such reasonable period of time as shall be contained within the notice. The water customer shall, at the customer’s own expense, install such an approved device at a location and in a manner in accordance with the Illinois Plumbing Code, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and all applicable local regulations, and shall have inspections and tests made of such approved devices upon installation and as required by the Illinois Plumbing Code, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and local regulations. Approved backflow devices shall be as determined by the Director of Public Works.
