The Village Manager, or such officer or employees of the waterworks and sewerage system as he or she shall direct, shall read water meters, prepare and distribute bills, collect the water and sewer rates, issue water and sewer permits, and shall perform such other duties as now are or may hereafter be imposed upon him or her by law or the ordinances of the village.
