8-1-2: SERVICE CALLS; CHARGES:
   A.   Service Calls Described: The city shall impose a service charge upon the residents of the city for the following:
      1.   Electrical: For each service call concerning electrical problems, defects or malfunctions from the weatherhead into the residence or building to which the service call is made;
      2.   Water: For each service call concerning water problems, defects or malfunctions from the water meter into the residence;
      3.   Sewer: For each service call concerning sewer problems, defects or malfunctions from the city's main sewer line servicing the property to which the service call is made over and across the property to which the service call is made; and
      4.   Other: All other service calls wherein the problem, defect or malfunction is not caused by or the fault of the City. (Ord. 972, 3-5-1979)
   B.   Charges Established: The City of Carmi, Illinois, shall make a charge to the person requesting any service call defined above of twenty five dollars ($25.00) per hour for one employee and pickup truck. The minimum charge for any service call defined above shall be twenty five dollars ($25.00).
   C.   Electric Meters, Location: All electric meters in the City of Carmi, Illinois, shall be located on the exterior of buildings and residences to which electric service is being supplied by the City of Carmi, Illinois, and shall be located in such manner as to be readily accessible by the employees of the City of Carmi, Illinois. After February 1, 2011, the City of Carmi, Illinois, shall make a charge for each electric meter not located on the exterior of buildings and residences as above provided of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per month.    D.   Charges Added To Utility Bill: Charges as herein established shall be added to the electric, water or sewage statement of the person requesting such services, and such charges shall be payable at such time as the remainder of such electric, water or sewage statement is due and payable.
