8-1-1: CUSTOMER UTILITY DEPOSITS:
The city shall be and is hereby authorized to make customer utility deposit charges as follows: (Ord. 1253, 6-20-1997)
   A.   Electrical Services:
      1.   Residential:
         a.   Customer utility deposit for initial residential electrical services shall be two hundred dollars ($200.00) per hookup. (Ord. 1253, 6-20-1997; amd. 2006 Code)
         b.   A current residential customer who is disconnected for nonpayment of electrical services shall be required to make a deposit equal to the highest two and one-half (21/2) months of electrical charges previously incurred by such customer at said location, plus the established reconnection charge, less the deposit mentioned in subsection A1a of this section.       2.   Commercial: Customer utility deposit for initial commercial electrical services shall be an amount equal to the highest two and one-half (21/2) months of electrical charges previously incurred on said property; and if said property has had no previous electrical services, then the deposit shall be determined by the ampere services. However, the minimum charge for initial customer utility deposit for commercial electrical services shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00).
   B.   Water Services:
      1.   Residential: Customer utility deposit for initial residential water services shall be twenty five dollars ($25.00).
      2.   Commercial: Customer utility deposit for initial commercial water services shall be an amount equal to the estimated monthly use as determined by the city water utility department, which amount shall not be less than thirty five dollars ($35.00) nor more than one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00).
   C.   Transfer Fee: In addition to all other charges herein, the city shall charge and is hereby authorized to charge a fee of five dollars ($5.00) for transferring the electrical or water services from one customer to another.
   D.   Refund Of Deposit: Customers who have made the above mentioned deposits, or who have made deposits required under previous ordinances, shall be refunded the deposit actually made by them; provided, however, that such customer has been current in paying utility charges for a term of one year prior to the time such refund is made. "Current payment" shall mean payments made in accordance with statements made and mailed to such customer. (Ord. 1002, 8-18-1980)
