1-6-9: RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
   A.   Residency Required: All persons who begin employment with the City after the effective date hereof shall either be actual residents of the City at the time that they are hired, or they shall become actual residents of the City within six (6) months after the completion of their probationary period, and shall thereafter continuously reside within the City while so employed by the City. The six (6) month period described in this section shall begin on the effective date of the employee's completion of probation.
   B.   Exemptions: Where the specialized requirements of a position make it difficult to find qualified applicants willing to obtain residency status, the Mayor may, with the approval of the City Council, exempt specific positions from the City's residency requirement. (Ord. 1273, 2-1-1999)
