A. Lincoln School Crosswalk:
1. U.S. Route 460: All motor vehicles traveling on or along U.S. Route 460 (SBI 14) in the City shall stop at the Lincoln School crosswalk when the red lens of the school crossing signal located at such crosswalk is illuminated by rapid intermittent flashes; and after such red signal ceases, such vehicles shall proceed across said crosswalk with caution and only after allowing the right-of-way to all pedestrians using said crosswalk. It shall be unlawful for any person to violate the provisions of this subsection.
2. State Route 1: All motor vehicles traveling on or along Illinois State Route 1 (SBI 1) in the City shall stop at the Lincoln School crosswalk when the red lens of the school crossing signal located at such crosswalk is illuminated by rapid intermittent flashes; and after such red signal ceases, such vehicles shall proceed across said crosswalk with caution and only after allowing the right-of-way to all pedestrians using said crosswalk.
3. Location:
a. The Lincoln School crosswalk on said U.S. Route 460 is located approximately at the intersection of Tenth Street and U.S. Route 460 in the City and shall be plainly marked by two (2) white lines indicating the boundaries and location of said crosswalk.
b. The Lincoln School crosswalk on Illinois State Route 1 is located approximately at the intersection of Ninth Street and Illinois State Route 1 in the City and shall be plainly marked by two (2) white lines indicating the boundaries and location of said crosswalk. B. Washington Grade School Crossing:
1. Stop At Crossing Required: All persons driving motor vehicles on and along Main Street (Routes 1 and 460) in the City shall stop at the Washington Grade School crosswalk when the red lens of the school crossing signal located at such crosswalk is illuminated by rapid intermittent flashes; and thereafter, such persons driving motor vehicles as aforesaid shall drive across said crosswalk with caution and only after allowing the right-of- way to pedestrians using said crosswalk. It shall be unlawful for any person to violate the provisions of this subsection.
2. Location: Said crosswalk crosses Main Street at a point on Main Street directly in front of the center front door of the Washington Grade School, and shall be plainly marked by two (2) white lines indicating the boundaries and location of said crosswalk. (Ord. 879, 8-6-1973; amd. 2006 Code)
