5-1-15: RESPONSIBILITIES OF SERGEANTS:
The duties of the sergeant include, but are not limited to, the following:
   A.   Regularly inspect the patrol officers as to proper uniform and appearance.
   B.   Assist and advise patrol officers in properly completing all records, reports and complaints; ensure that reports are submitted to the office in a timely manner.
   C.   Handle all complaints from patrol officers, if possible, and forward necessary memos and/or reports.
   D.   Act as juvenile officer of his assigned shift.
   E.   Perform regular police duties as needed.
   F.   Direct and coordinate the activities of line personnel assigned during his duty hours.
   G.   Ensure proper use and care of department equipment during assigned duty hours.
   H.   Acquire accountability of patrol officers for failure to accomplish their assignments and for improper actions.
   I.   Be responsible for the proper execution of orders given to patrol officers assigned on his shift. (Ord. 1023, 8-3-1981)
