5-1-7: INTERVENTION:
   A.   Intervention Prohibited; Exceptions: Officers shall not interfere with cases being handled by other officers of this or any other department unless:
      1.   Ordered to intervene by a superior; or
      2.   Ordered to intervene as provided by law; or
      3.   The intervening officer believes beyond a reasonable doubt that a manifest injustice would result from failure to take such immediate action, and shall report the action to the most accessible supervisor.
   B.   Investigations Outside Regular Duties: Officers shall not undertake any investigation or other official action not part of their regular duties without obtaining permission from their superior unless the urgencies of the situation require immediate police action. (Ord. 1017, eff. 4-16-1981)
