As used in this chapter, "taxicab" means and includes any motor vehicle used for carrying passengers for hire or fare, or offered for hire or fare, or for donation or any other form of compensation to the public, for transportation within the Municipality, except motor buses operated on regular schedules and regularly established routes and except motor vehicles used exclusively for service at weddings, funerals or ambulance work.
