The Building and Zoning Inspector shall administer and enforce the Zoning Code and the Building and Housing Code. For the purposes of the Zoning Code, the Building and Zoning Inspector shall have the following specific duties:
(a) Upon finding that any of the provisions of the Zoning Code are being violated, to notify, in writing, the person responsible for the violation, ordering the action necessary to correct the violation;
(b) To order the discontinuance of illegal uses of land, buildings or structures;
(c) To order the removal of illegal buildings, structures, additions or structural alterations;
(d) To order the discontinuance of any illegal work being done; and
(e) To take any other action authorized by the Zoning Code to ensure compliance with or to prevent a violation of the Zoning Code, including the issuance of and action on zoning permits and certificates of occupancy and similar administrative duties permissible under the law.
