It shall be unlawful for any solicitor, canvasser, peddler, hawker, itinerant merchant, and transient vendor of merchandise or agent to engage in such businesses within the Village without first registering or obtaining a permit or license in compliance with the provisions of this chapter. However, no person participating in soliciting or canvassing activities sponsored or approved by a school chartered by the Ohio Department of Education, a community school created under Ohio R.C. Chapter 3314, or a nonpublic, non-chartered school reporting to the Department of Education, shall be required to register or obtain a permit or license under this chapter. Nevertheless, persons participating in such school sponsored or approved activities shall comply with all other provisions of this chapter not inconsistent with the foregoing exemption.
