(a) All persons joining the Cardington Police Department as Reserve/Auxiliary members shall be individually responsible for their initial training and to complete the Ohio Basic Peace Officer’s Training Course at an approved facility.
(b) Upon completion of the Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Course and becoming fully certified, said Reserve/Auxiliary member is expected to serve with the Cardington Police Department.
(c) After becoming fully certified and upon completing twelve months of active service with the Police Department as well as fulfilling those department requirements then in force, including the minimum monthly non-paid duty requirements, the Village will reimburse said Reserve/Auxiliary member (not exceeding four in any one fiscal year) for the base cost of obtaining the Ohio Basic Peace Officer’s Training Course when these requirements are certified as having been completed to Council by the Police Chief through the Mayor.
