933.02 TERMINATING SERVICE TO CUSTOMER.
   The Cardington Water Department may terminate water or sewer service and terminate the contract for the following reasons, after the Cardington Water Department issues a Notice of Delinquency and Shut-Off in accord with this Chapter to the customer, owner, and other occupant that the Department will discontinue water service or sewer service to the subject premises.
   (a)   For willful waste of water.
   (b)   For knowingly failing to promptly repair leaking customer branch after notice from the Cardington Water Department to do so. A three (3) day notice will be given as a maximum time limit.
   (c)   For the use of water on any premises other than that recorded in the application, except as may herein otherwise be provided for.
   (d)   For cross-connection or interconnection with any other supply of water or sewer service when not approved by the Cardington Water Department. This includes installation of pipe and fixtures such that a possibility of back-siphonage or backflow, in the opinion of the Village Administrator or his designated representative, exists.
   (e)   For disturbing, vandalizing, or otherwise tampering with any service pipe, meter, curb stop, corporation stop, or any other appurtenance, or Village owned water or sewer infrastructure, or the seal on any appurtenance or Village owned water or sewer infrastructure.
   (f)   For nonpayment of water bills, sewer bills, or other charges assessed under the terms of these rules and regulations.
   (g)   For failure to provide reasonable and safe entrance to premises for the purpose of reading, inspection, installation, maintenance or removal of meter, and inspection of piping.
   (h)   For making any additions or alterations in or about the customer's branch without prior notice to and permission obtained from the Cardington Water Department.
   (i)   For failure to pay the water bill or sewer bill at the location for which an owner or a customer has a valid contract, or the water bill or sewer bill at the property for which an owner or a customer has guaranteed payment therefore.
   (j)   For failure of a water or sewer service user to execute a proper contract for service.
   (k)   Cardington Water Department may terminate service to vacant property and remove the meter as soon as the Department learns of the vacancy, unless otherwise arranged for beforehand, and terminate the contract if, in the opinion of the Cardington Water Department, damage may result to building or contents.
   (l)   When a building or premises receiving temporary service has been completed to the extent that a water meter could be reasonably protected and has not been installed. (Ord. 2006-07. Passed 6-19-07.)
