557.03 TREES OVERHANGING STREET OR SIDEWALK; DUTY TO TRIM; HEIGHT.
   The owner, and the tenant or other person in possession of or control over any lot or land situated within the Village abutting on any public street, alley or highway, shall trim, and keep trimmed, all trees growing on such lot or land, where branches of trees overhang any portion of such street, alley or highway or overhang any part of the pavement or sidewalk or that part of such street or highway so abutting upon such lot or land. Such trees shall be trimmed and kept trimmed so that the lowest branch thereof is at least eight feet above the level of that part of such pavement or sidewalk and fourteen feet above the level of that part of such pavement on any street or highway, or the surface of any alley so overhung by such branches.
