Section 507.5.8 is added to Section 507 of the California Fire Code to read as follows:
“507.5.8 Fire hydrant street marker. Fire hydrant locations shall be visually identified as required by the fire code official. Fire hydrants may be identified by a reflectorized blue marker with a minimum dimension of three inches, in the center of the travel lane and adjacent the water source, or by other methods approved by the fire code official. At intersections, a reflectorized blue marker may be required on each cross street. Any hydrant marker damaged or removed during the course of street construction or repair shall be immediately replaced by the contractor, developer, or person responsible for removal or damage.”
