The city hereby adopts this subchapter pursuant to Chapter 214 of the Texas Local Government Code, as amended, and the following minimum standards for the continued use and occupancy of all buildings regardless of the date of their construction; (ii) the following provisions for giving proper notice to the owner of a building; and (iii) the following provisions for a public hearing to determine compliance of buildings. In the event that any provision of this chapter conflicts with said Chapter 214, or in the event that any provision of said Chapter 214, has been omitted from this chapter, the city shall be entitled to pursue its remedies in conformity with said state law, as hereafter amended.
