§ 113.03  REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   Any person, group of individuals or entity intending to conduct a garage sale must first obtain a permit from the City of Canton, Texas for each such requested or advertised sale.
   (B)   The permit must be obtained at least two full business days (48 hours) prior to conducting the sale.
   (C)   The fee must be paid prior to the intended sale, or on the date the permit is received.
   (D)   The names of all persons participating in the sale, including consignment sellers, and those conducting the sale or associated therewith must be submitted and listed on the permit. Note: This requirement does not apply to charitable or non-profit organizations.
   (E)   Sales are limited to not more than three consecutive days. The intended dates and hours of operation of the sale shall be submitted and placed on the permit. No sale shall be permitted to be conducted for any period in excess of three consecutive days.
   (F)   Permits must be displayed in a conspicuous place on the premises during the operating hours of the sale.
   (G)   No goods shall be sold or sales conducted in city streets, county or state highways, or any right-of-ways associated therewith.
   (H)   Individuals or groups applying for permits may be denied same if previously found guilty of a violation of the sign ordinance regulating garage sale signs and/or a previous violation under this chapter.
   (I)   Persons issued citations for any nonconforming sale shall have a maximum of two hours for compliance. Failure to comply after that time shall result in the issuance of an additional citation and fine.
   (J)   All signs posted both on-premise and off-premise shall be removed no later than two days following the conclusion of the sale.
