§ 90.01  USE OF SKATES, SKATEBOARDS, BICYCLES AND THE LIKE.
   (A)   Prohibition. It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, push, wear or maneuver skates, skateboards, bicycles and other similar conveyances on, along, or over the streets, sidewalks and commercial or industrial-zoned districts.
   (B)   Regulations and requirements.
      (1)   It shall be a defense to prosecution hereunder that such skates, skateboards, bicycles or other similar conveyances were purchased in the downtown section of the City of Canton, Texas, and are being transported therefrom.
      (2)   It shall be a defense to prosecution hereunder that such skates, skateboards, bicycles or other similar conveyances were purchased in the shopping center and are being transported therefrom.
   (C)   Persons responsible.
      (1)   The term PERSON as utilized in this section shall include the parents of minors or other persons having custody, control or supervision of the minor or minors.
      (2)   Any person found guilty of violating this section shall be subject to having the skates, skateboards, bicycles or other similar conveyances removed from his or her person and held by the city and punished by a fine not to exceed $200 for each occurrence. The property shall be held by the city until the satisfactory disposition of the fine.
