(A) Speed limit.
(1) The maximum prima facie speed limit be set at 35 mph for all sections of Cherry Creek between College street and Old Kaufman Road, and at 25 mph for all sections of Cherry Creek between College Street and State highway 243.
(2) The maximum prima facie speed limit is to be set at 25 mph for all sections of Sides Circle.
(B) Signs, erection of. The staff shall cause to be erected appropriate signage giving notice of the speed limits established herein.
(C) Effect of prior law. An offense committed before the effective date of this section is governed by prior law in effect when the offense was committed and the former law is continued in effect for this purpose.
(D) Penalty. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions or terms of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Municipal Court of the City of Canton, Texas, shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of $200 for each offense, and each and every day the violation is continued shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense.
(E) Effective date. This section shall take effect immediately from and after its passage; however, the speed limit established herein shall not take effect until the appropriate signage giving notice of the speed limit has been erected.
