(A) It is unlawful for any person to keep, maintain, sell or permit to be operated in his or her place of business any machine which has been converted into an automatic payoff device which shall automatically award money, prizes, tokens, merchandise, gifts or anything of value, other than free games to the operator or player of the machine.
(B) It is also unlawful for any person to convert any machine into an automatic payoff device.
