(a) Permits for open burning may be granted by the Fire Chief for the following:
(1) Recognized silvicultural, range or wildlife management practices.
(2) Prevention or control of disease or pests.
(3) Ceremonial purposes. (These fires shall meet local requirements)
(4) Instruction of fire-fighting.
(5) Agricultural or horticultural management.
(b) Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the use of a fire for outdoor cooking purposes, if such fires are properly attended and extinguished when not attended, or the use of home fireplaces and heating devices.
