The Director of Public Safety, in consultation with the Chief of the City or District Fire Department, is authorized to establish fire lanes on either public or private property upon finding that a fire lane is necessary for safeguarding life and/or property from hazards of fire and explosion. The Director of Public Safety is also authorized to establish fire lanes on public or private property when requested by the property owner or their agent.
