(a) Any and all electrical construction performed within Canal Winchester must be performed by a person licensed by Canal Winchester, Ohio. Such license may be issued upon written proof that such person carries a current license issued by the City of Columbus, County of Franklin. Canal Winchester may issue the license to such person at a cost of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per year renewable each year in the month of January.
(b) The person to whom the license is issued must be a full time employee of a contracting company or the owner of such company in order to obtain a permit for the construction company to do work within Canal Winchester should such permit be required.
(c) The holder of the license can obtain electrical permits for only one company; that is, the one he or she is employed by, should such permits be required. No license holder may obtain permits for more than one company should such permits be required.
(d) A homeowner shall not be required to have an electrical license in order to obtain a permit for work performed on the owner’s residence, should such permit be required. The residence must be occupied by the owner at least six months of the year.
(e) Any person who fails to obtain the license as required herein shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
