901.07 DIRECTIONAL SIGNS IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT.
   The City Manager may authorize the placing on public poles, within the Historic District, directional signs directing pedestrian and vehicular traffic to businesses and institutions within the Historic District, upon the following terms and conditions:
   (a)   Signs shall be erected, removed, and maintained only by persons and firms authorized to do so by the City Manager.
   (b)   The individual signs shall be no larger than two inches by two feet, on panels expandable to two feet by ten feet, and shall be available on a first come, first serve basis, with a waiting list, as necessary.
   (c)   The businesses and institutions shall pay a fee determined by the City Manager based on the costs of the sign. Each sign, whether new or replaced shall incur the fee, which shall be payable to the City of Canal Fulton.
   (d)   All signs shall be consistent in color and design with downtown street signs, and shall reference the City of Canal Fulton, and the Historic District.
   (e)   Signs must be maintained by the business or institution and must be replaced as determined by the City Manager.
   (f)   Each sign shall reference only the merchant's name, stock, or service, unless written permission is obtained by the City Manager to display other material.
