(a) No person, recklessly or by force, shall resist or interfere with a lawful arrest of the person or another.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree. If the offense is committed by an offender who brandishes a deadly weapon or who attempts to gain control of a deadly weapon that is in the possession of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest is a felony and shall be prosecuted under appropriate State law.
(c) As used in this section, "deadly weapon" has the same meaning as in Ohio R.C. 2923.11.
