110.02 EMS CHARGES.
   Effective May 6, 2008, a charge of four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00) for BLS emergency, six hundred fifty dollars ($650.00) for a Level 1 ALS emergency and six hundred seventy-five dollars ($675.00) for a Level 2 ALS emergency per call is to be made for ambulance or emergency medical services rendered to persons by the Canal Fulton Fire Department. Additional charges are reflected in Section 143.02, Ambulance Service Rates.
   (a)   Effective May 6, 2008, a charge of twelve dollars ($12.00) per BLS and ALS mile of transport to a hospital is to be made for ambulance or emergency medical services rendered to persons by the Fire Department.
   (b)   (1)   Lawrence Township residents will be required to pay to the extent of their private or public medical insurance coverage. Co-payments and deductibles will not be sought from Lawrence Township residents; your taxes are considered as payment for co-payments and deductibles.
         A.   Residency is determined by address at time of the transport.
         B.   No person shall be denied services due to a lack of insurance or ability to pay.
      (2)   Nonresidents who do not pay City of Canal Fulton or Lawrence Township taxes will be billed for any co-payments and deductibles. In the event the nonresident does not have insurance they will be responsible for the full amount of the bill.
   (c)   The City Fiscal Officer shall be responsible for depositing and collecting funds. Money collected shall be deposited in existing Fund #222, designated as the "Fire and EMS Fund", and shall continue to be appropriated and administered by Canal Fulton Council and City Fiscal Officer for payment of the costs of managing, maintaining and operating ambulance or emergency medical services in the City of Canal Fulton and Lawrence Township.
