No person licensed under the provisions of this chapter shall take or receive in pawn or pledge for money loaned, or shall take, receive or purchase within the line of his business as a pawnbroker, any property, bonds, notes, securities, articles or thing whatsoever, from any minor, on the ownership of which is in or which is claimed by any minor, or which may be in the possession or under the control of any minor, or a person appearing to be intoxicated, a person known to be a notorious thief, or a person known to have been convicted of larceny or burglary.
