The Mayor is individually responsible to the electorate for the proper administration of the City by virtue of the power of appointment and the power of removal of the administrative officers as provided by this Charter.
This Charter fully intends that the position of Mayor be considered as a part-time position and that the Council should set his salary accordingly. The mayor may have other employment and shall perform his duties at the hours of his choice.
The Mayor shall hold one public meeting per month, except for the months of July and August, at a periodic schedule to be announced, at which the Mayor and the Director of Administration will meet with the public for a discussion of the affairs of the City.
