A permit will be required to perform any work upon any mechanical or gas construction, including, but not limited to: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, gas piping or gas appliances; provided, however, the permit shall not be required to repair damaged appliances or to perform ordinary day-to-day maintenance. Permits will only be issued to licensed contractors. Permits will be issued by the Building Official or his or her designee upon payment of all applicable permit fees, verification of a current city business license, and verification that the contractor has been duly licensed by the state. If deemed necessary by the Building Official, construction drawings must be submitted and approved prior to issuing a permit.
