§ 117.12 TAXICAB IDENTITY LIGHTS; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   Every taxicab shall be equipped with an identity light attached to the top of the vehicle. The identity light shall be constructed in one unit consisting of an illuminated plate or cylinder upon which is printed the company name and the words "taxi," "taxicab" or "for hire." The overall dimensions of such identity light shall not exceed six inches in height by 20 inches in length.
   (B)   Upon the request by the owner and approval by the Chief of Police, the owner of a taxicab company will be allowed to operate one vehicle for each four taxicabs in operation which shall be exempt from the taxicab identity light requirements set out in this section. The owner of such vehicle shall be allowed to use it both as a taxicab and as a vehicle for hire for special events for which the identity light might not be appropriate.
