It shall be the duty of the City Attorney to attend any meeting as requested by Council (either in person or via electronic means), and when in attendance, will act as the Parliamentarian. With the exception of those cases prosecuted by the City Prosecutor, it shall be the duty of the City Attorney, or his assigns, to enter an appearance in all actions, cases, and special proceedings, and to conduct all suits in all courts in which the city is, or shall be, a party. He shall also investigate titles and give opinions on questions of law when requested to do so by the City Council, Mayor, or City Manager, and to do any other work for the city as may be required from time to time.
