§ 37.25 SOUTH CAROLINA RETIREMENT SYSTEM; APPLICATION.
   (A)   The Mayor and the City Clerk are instructed, authorized, and empowered to make application for the admission of the city to the South Carolina Retirement System (S.C. Code §§ 9-1-10 et seq.) as an employer as therein defined, and to assume on behalf of the city the responsibilities incident to membership as an employer under that Act, and to execute on behalf of the city all necessary documents for the admission of the city to the system as an employer, and that the membership of the city be requested to take effect as of January 1, 1946.
   (B)   Furthermore, except as to those former employees of the city drawing retirement compensation on April 1, 1946, all existing ordinances or previous resolutions pertaining to the pensioning or retirement of employees of the city shall no longer be valid.
