3-2-1: USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN PUBLIC PLACES:
   A.   Definitions:
    ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Any beverage with an alcoholic content in excess of three percent (3%), and which said beverage shall be in either bottle, metal or synthetic containers of any kind.
   PUBLIC PROPERTY: Any of the roadways, intersections or other property belonging to the City of Cambridge, including City parks, which said property is within the corporate limits of the City of Cambridge.
   B.   Purpose: The necessity for the provisions and prohibitions hereinafter contained and enacted in this Chapter 2 is declared as a matter of legislative determination to be in the public interest, and it is further declared that the provisions and prohibitions hereinafter contained are enacted in pursuance of and for the purpose of securing and promoting public health, convenience, safety and welfare and the peace and quiet of the City and its inhabitants.
   C.   Use Of Alcoholic Beverages In Public Places Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any person to consume or carry in open containers, any alcoholic beverage upon the public property hereinabove described within the corporate limits of the City. (Ord. 4-81, 7-13-1981)
