The areas of special flood hazard identified by the federal emergency management agency in a scientific and engineering report entitled "The Flood Insurance Study (FIS) For Washington County, Idaho And Incorporated Areas" dated June 16, 2009, with accompanying flood insurance rate maps (FIRM) and other supporting data, are adopted by reference and declared a part of this chapter. The FIS and the flood insurance rate map (FIRM) are on file at city hall, Cambridge, Idaho. Special flood hazard areas may include areas that have been known to flood historically or that have been defined through standard engineering analysis by governmental agencies or private parties but not yet incorporated in an FIS. This information may be used as best available data and be used as the basis for regulation until a new FIRM is adopted that incorporates the data. (Ord. 4-2009, 6-8-2009)
