8-1-14: INJURY TO OR TAMPERING WITH WATER SYSTEM:
   A.   Damaging System: It shall be unlawful to disturb, destroy, adjust, molest, meddle, or otherwise interfere with any portion of the city public water system or its appurtenances, located on either public or private property. Should any damage result, either intentionally or unintentionally, from handling or otherwise tampering with said water system, the violator shall pay for all costs incurred in connection with the repairs of said system and/or any damages that may result from the tampering with said water system.
   B.   Replacement Cost: The city's cost of repairing or replacing any meter, shutoff valve or other related part of the water system having been damaged by any person other than a city officer or employee shall be the obligation of the property owner. Owners are responsible for the acts of their tenants, contractors or permissive users. (Ord. 2-2014, 5-12-2014)
