§ 34.24  ABSENCE AND INABILITY.
   In the event of the absence of the Chief of Police or in the case of his or her inability to act, or in the event that the Office of Chief of Police becomes vacated, the officer next in rank or in seniority of the same rank, shall assume the powers, duties and responsibilities of the Chief of Police until such time as the President by and with the consent of the Board of Trustees appoints a new Chief of Police.
