(A) The Mayor shall, with the approval of the Village Board of Trustees, appoint a Library Board of Trustees for the Village of Calumet Park Local Library consisting of seven members who are residents of the Village of Calumet Park.
(B) The first appointed Library Board of Trustees for the Village of Calumet Park shall consist of, as designated by the Mayor, two Library Trustees to serve two years, two Library Trustees to serve four years, and three Library Trustees to serve six years. Thereafter, Library Trustees shall be appointed for six year terms and shall serve until their successors are appointed and qualified.
(C) The Mayor may remove any trustee in the manner provided in ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 3.1-35-10.
(D) Except as provided above, in all other respects, all provisions of the Illinois Local Library Act that are applicable to cities shall be applicable to the local Library Board of Trustees for the Village of Calumet Park and shall supersede any conflicting requirements for villages.
(E) Nothing in this section shall be construed to adopt any provision of the Illinois Local Library Act applicable to municipalities with a population of more than 500,000 or more.
