Any sign which no longer identifies a bona fide business conducted, or a product sold, on the premises where the sign is located, shall be taken down and removed by the owner, agent or person having the beneficial use of the building, structure or property upon which the sign may be found within ten days after written notification from the Building Department; and upon failure to comply with such notice within the time specified in the order, then the Mayor and the Board of Trustees, on the recommendation of the Building Inspector, may declare the sign to be a public nuisance and direct the removal of the sign as required by law.
