It is hereby declared to be the policy of the Village of Calumet Park, in the exercise by the village of its home rule powers for the protection of the public safety, health, morals and welfare of the residents residing in the Village of Calumet Park and for persons in the village and for the maintenance and promotion of commerce, industry and good government, to secure to all persons living or desiring to live in the village a fair opportunity to purchase, lease, rent or occupy housing or other real estate regardless of race, color, sex, religion or ethnic background.
