It is unlawful for any person within the town to pay for money or other things of value in any tavern or store or in any house used as a place of gaming or in any barn, kitchen, stable, outhouse, street, highway, woods, field or open place, at any game with cards or dice, or any gaming table, faro bank or bank of the same or like kind, or other device for gambling by whatsoever name it may be called nor shall anyone bet on any of the sides or hands of the game.
