256.09 UNIFORMS.
   (a)   The Village shall furnish pants and shirts for each full-time employee of the Street and Cemetery Departments. Such pants and shirts will be rented and laundered each week. The Village shall buy caps and a jacket for each employee. Uniform standards will be set by the Mayor. Funds shall be taken from the Street Construction, Maintenance and Repair Fund.
   (b)   Labor employees of the Water and Waste Water Departments are hereby authorized to purchase, through the Clerk-Treasurer, shirts, uniform pants, jackets, patches and caps, up to the amount of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per employee, per year. Uniform standards will be set by the Village Administrator. Funds shall be taken from the department having the benefit of said uniforms.
   (c)   Police Department uniform standards will be set by the Mayor and shall comply with State regulations. Initial starting uniforms for a new policeman will be purchased by the Village with the approval of the Mayor. Clothing allowances will then be allowed, not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per year, per employee, and uniforms will be purchased through the Clerk-Treasurer. No firearms may be purchased by the Police Department with the use of the clothing allowance. Funds shall be taken from the Police Department Fund.
   (d)   All uniforms will remain the property of the Village and, upon termination of an employee's employment, will be turned into the employee's supervisor before the employee's last paycheck is issued.
