(a) Overtime shall be calculated at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay and shall be based on a forty-hour work week and comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) in effect at present.
(b) Saturday midnight to Saturday midnight shall constitute a work week. Employees shall be considered to be working overtime for authorized hours worked in excess of 40 hours in any one work week. For purposes of calculating what constitutes "hours worked", paid vacation, holiday and compensatory time and personal days shall be considered hours worked for purposes of the right of overtime compensation, but sick leave shall not.
(c) Employees may elect to take compensatory time off in lieu of overtime compensation. Compensatory time off shall be capped at 160 hours be utilized to calculate compensatory time off.
(d) Upon retirement, an employee shall be paid at the employee’s regular hourly rate for unused compensatory time to a maximum of 160 hours.
