242.01 CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (a)   A marshal, to be designated the Chief of Police shall be appointed by the Mayor upon the advice and consent of the legislative authority of the Village.

   (b)   The compensation of the Chief of Police shall be determined from time to time by Council and shall be payable biweekly from the General Fund.
(Adopting Ordinance)
   (c)   Said Chief shall have all police powers conferred by law.
   (d)   Said Chief shall serve a probationary term of six months, to end six months from the date of his or her appointment. Upon his or her satisfactory completion of said term, and upon the recommendation of the Mayor and consent of Council, he or she shall continue in office until removed therefrom according to law.
