The Solicitor shall be an attorney at law, admitted to practice in the courts of Ohio. The Solicitor shall act as attorney and counsel for the Municipality and the officers thereof in their official capacity and, as such attorney, shall prosecute and defend all actions by or against the Municipality or any department or officer thereof during the term of his or her employment. The Solicitor shall also render legal opinions to Council and to any department or officer of the Municipality upon written request. The Solicitor shall attend regular and special Council meetings upon request by the Mayor or Council.
