1040.06 WATER METERS.
   (a)   Water meters shall be set at the property line being served or as close as is practical thereto or in the basement of the building served.
   (b)   A homeowner requesting meter cards instead of permitting the meter reader inside his or her home, or in instances where entrance is not available or access to the inside meter is difficult, shall install an outside reader on his or her water meter. All costs shall be paid by the homeowner. The charge for installing an outside reader shall be set by the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs and shall be subject to price increases as the price of materials increases. Nonpayment of such charge shall result in disconnection of service.

   (c)   Replacement of frozen meters shall be at the customer's expense, with a minimum fee as set forth in Chapter 206 of the Administration Code - the General Fee Schedule. (Adopting Ordinance)
   (d)   The fee for installing an additional meter on any property served by the waterworks system shall be the cost of such meter and setting. The customer shall make the installation.
   (e)   Water companies shall furnish master meters meeting the specifications of the Water Department upon request. (Ord. 79-10. Passed 12-4-79.)
