642.19 SECURING WRITINGS BY DECEPTION.
   (a)   No person, by deception, shall cause another to execute any writing that disposes of or encumbers property, or by which a pecuniary obligation is incurred.
   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of securing writings by deception, a misdemeanor of the first degree, provided the value of the property or the obligation involved is less than five hundred dollars ($500.00) and/or provided the victim of the offense is not an elderly person or a disabled adult. The penalty shall be as provided in Section 698.02. (ORC 2913.43)
