§ 31.38 PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR.
   (A)   The duties and responsibilities of the Public Works Director shall include, but are not limited to the following:
      (1)   Supervise and direct all outside work as it pertains to the city.
      (2)   Performance of all other duties and responsibilities required of the City Public Works Director by statute, ordinance, or as required by City Council.
   (B)   The office holder is not required to be a resident or registered voter of the city. No fixed term of the office is authorized. In the event of a vacancy a successor shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the legislative body.
   (C)   Compensation shall be in the amount as established by the City Council from time to time as set forth in § 31.02.
   (D)   No person shall be appointed or act as the Public Works Director unless such person has taken the oath required by Section 228 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and has provided bond, if required, with corporate surety authorized to transact business in Kentucky in condition upon the performance of duties specified herein.
   (E)   The Public Works Director may also have all the duties of the Fire Chief.
