It is the duty of the property owner, within 30 days of receipt of a notice to proceed with the required repairs as specified in the notice. The property owner may elect to have the reconstruction work done by a private contractor, proceed with the required work himself, or enter into an agreement with the city as described in § 91.46. A property owner who elects to have the required work performed by a private contractor or proceed with the work himself shall be responsible for the entire cost associated with the work.
